Production Placement

In order to produce my teaser trailer to a high standard understanding production placement is crucial to capture the success of how to produce a good trailer. And so, I have completed research into product placement in films and teaser trailers acknowledging the effect it has on audience and if it would be clever to use this idea in my very own teaser trailer.

Analysing teaser trailer - Inception

 'Inception' was also a great success in cinemas; the marketing campaign was highlighted through different methods such as social media due to the famed actor Leonardo DiCaprio's involvement in the film.


This trailer is very different from 'The Lovely Bones' teaser trailer as there is no dialogue; however the lighting is one similarity between the two trailers. I believe thriller films will mostly consist of low key lighting with some scenes high key lighting to add to the more in-depth scenes that are light more dark and gloomy.


Inception made a total of $825,532,764 in worldwide box office takings. The film was directed by Christopher Nolan.

Analysing teaser trailers - The Lovely Bones

As part of my research into teaser trailers I chose two popular and successfully published teaser trailers; The Lovely Bones, a thriller, and Inception, another thriller film.


'The Lovely Bones' was a massive successful in cinemas - this teaser trailer I will be analysing lasts 1:02 minutes which is quite average for a teaser trailer.

This film made a total of £6,193,167 in the UK.
The Lovely Bones was directed by Peter Jackson.

Teaser Trailers!

As part of my A2 Advanced Media Portfolio creating a teaser trailer is a main task within the portfolio and so during this course research, planning and constructing a teaser trailer is essential to produce a media product of high and professional standard.
Additionally, this portfolio also consists of creating a movie poster and movie magazine for the teaser trailer.




What is a teaser trailer?


Teaser trailers and official movie trailers are used to highlight and market a new film for audiences. 

A teaser trailer is an advertising campaign used to create a 'buzz' around a film. The duration of a teaser trailer is short and catchy - the use of spinets of scenes teases the viewer of what to except of the film and so encourages a large audience to buy tickets to see the film.
